Ciara’s Prayer and YOUR Prayer

After Summer Walker's newest album drop, I'm seeing a re-emergence of posts about Ciara's Prayer. There's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting the "recipe" for better. Especially if you're not afraid to put the work in to enjoy the fruits of your labor..

But, I'm sure it was a prayer prayed from a very vulnerable and sincere place. It wasn't a copy/paste prayer. It was specific to her truths. She'd hit a crucial point of disappointment and heartbreak (from what she/media shared). As a woman, when you hit that point, you're in a vulnerable space and you desperately want God to heal, fix it and give you something better. And, that's all fine and dandy. Who doesn't love a good comeback story?!

However, the part that no one is talking about is how vital accountability, action and vulnerability are as it pertains to healing. Healing ushers in a healthy magnet for all things that your heart desires. And, the very things that you never knew you needed. We have to be careful of asking for what we aren't readily able to appreciate yet. Bite that bullet.. *whew* And, grow in grace from there.

I'm going to let you in on something:

✨Healing hurts. All cuts hurt first, before they heal. You have to own your faults and accept the fact that their faults (past relationship failures), don't dictate, determine or direct your worth.

✨Vulnerability sounds weak or scary to some, but it's a truly a strength. Once you tap into that, beautiful things begin to grow. It's a process. Not a race, not a rush, but a process.

Ciara did more than pray. She had to do the inner work, first. She had to be real with herself, no matter how much it may have hurt. She had to be patient. She had to do whatever it took to stay intact as a Mother and as a Woman. The last thing you want is for your offspring to feel the rain from your storm. She had to get to a point of self-enjoyment/self-fulfillment. It's usually when you're busy being better and trusting God to respond, that the prayer itself, manifests. I mean, I haven't talked to our good sis Ciara YET, but as a woman who's been in a broken space as a Mother before—I can relate. I think we all can.

So, before you pray #CiarasPrayer , ask God to prepare you to receive and retain what YOU require and desire. But, more importantly, be sure to do the inner work required in order to be able to contribute to the mate that you prayed for. It's going to take some #work ..but, it'll be worth it with the right person. 

You don't want to pray for a #RussellWilson, if you haven't done the work to match his vibe/purpose. You don't want to ask for a #MichelleObama if you haven't done the work of #BarackObama .. 🥴 .. these are just the top examples that came to mind.

Pray that God unveils everything within you that needs to be mended, healed, restored and maybe even rebuilt, first. I'm trying to tell you.. A person who is whole is sexy as heck. And, a person who can encourage and contribute to your purpose in life is even sexier.

Take your time. Don't let society rush you.
